How am I supposed to understand this verse?
If you study the Bible for any length of time, you are going to come across verses that are difficult to understand, or that seem to contradict other Bible verses.

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." - 2 Peter 3:16

Should we go to church on Sunday?

Should we go to church on Sunday? What is the answer?
The answer for most people is that everyone goes to church on Sundays, people throughout history have gone to church on Sundays (Catholic and Protestant), it is a Christian tradition to attend church on Sundays. Others might say, that we should worship the Lord every day and that we do not need to meet on Sundays. There are others who say that we should meet on Saturdays since that is when Jesus went to the synagog. There are yet others who believe that Sundays are the new Sabbath and that we ought to observe Sundays as the Jews observed Saturdays. What is the answer?

The Nature of the Holy Spirit

The moment that someone is saved, when they receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour, the Bible tells us that they also receive the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
If they do not have the Holy Spirit, the Bible says that they are not saved.
Romans 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Three Reasons I Am Secure in Christ

There are some verses in the Bible that give the impression that I can lose my salvation. An example is 2 Peter 2:20-22
20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
Reading these verses, it seems you can lose your salvation, but you need to read it in context and go back to verse…
