Why you don't like the Bible. (part 2)

In a previous post, I wrote about why people don't like the Bible. Most people do not like things they cannot understand. People avoid what they can't comprehend, especially when there is no hope of grasping it. I believe that not understanding the Bible is one of the reasons people do not like it. Why is it so difficult to understand? By analysing the answers to this question, I hope to bring new light and to give you a renewed interest in this immortal book. Read the rest of the article…

Bible Prophecy Fulfilled Today: Knowledge Shall Increase

During the time of the Persian Empire, an angel told
Daniel, the Hebrew prophet, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." (Daniel 12:4). Today, we are seeing a dramatic fulfilment of this prophecy that was written around 2,500 years ago.

Recent inventions include the following:

Harvard Professor Duped by “Jesus' Wife" Manuscript Fraud

(Excerpt from Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D., "Jesus' Wife Claims Revealed as 'Whopping Fraud,'" Breitbart, Sep. 14, 2016)

"The Harvard Professor who confidently proclaimed to the world she possessed evidence that suggested Jesus may have had a wife has now been outed as a second-rate academic who allowed herself to be duped by a con man. Dr. Karen L. King, professor at Harvard Divinity School, earned her 15 minutes of fame by staking her reputation as a historian of early Christianity on the authenticity of an ancient papyrus stating: Read the rest of the article…

Keep your children protected on the computer.

Recently, I read an article that said, the US FBI director advised people to place tape over their web cams, causing me to reassess computer safety. As technology expands into every area of our lives, so do the dangers that are also associated with it. Cyber bullying, pornography is just a click away, and there
are adults on sites (like Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat) who pose as children to lure them into nightmare scenarios. Technology is helpful and convenient, but there is also an unseen price tag that comes along with it. None of these problems are new, they are just being carried out in a modern day technological arena.

As a parent, I want to help those of you who have serious concerns about internet safety, with a free solution that you might consider incorporating into your home.

The following is excerpted from "Nobody Understands," Christian News, June 13, 2016

The way to heaven is through our pride.

"Everyone will get to heaven, if they are proud enough." This is often what is said to me when I talk to people about heaven. Perhaps these are not their exact words, but it is essentially what is conveyed in the conversation. I'll explain more in a bit, but the Bible says, "But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the…

How to find the wrong church.

I noticed a few weeks ago that the streets in the city centre were filled with more cars than usual. As I walked through the cold autumn air, across
Lower Mallow Street to my car, several parents with their older teens walked past. I realised a new year at the Universities had begun again. The busyness in the city was the new and returning students visiting the city with their parents, getting their bearings, and enjoying their last few moments together.

Fall brings a lot of movement into the Limerick City area. Summer holiday is over, school is beginning, colleges and universities are welcoming back old students, as well as new and foreign.

Why you don't like the Bible.

Is it possible, that the reason you may not like the Bible, is because you have trouble understanding it?
The Bible is a guide for the direction of your life like a map.

Many people find that when they try to read the Holy Bible, they have difficulty understanding it.
II Peter 3:16 "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction."

There are many reasons for this, …

The Source of Faith.

reading and hearing the Bible is where Christian faith comes from
Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

The word "hearing" in this verse refers to both listening and reading. The information from the pages of the Bible needs to enter our minds, and when it does, it will produce faith, but we have to actually hear the Word of God, the Bible.

The Bible is like a hammer.

Jeremiah 23:29: Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?
The Bible says it is like a hammer and can build your life into something great.

The Bible says God's word is like a hammer.

If God says Hid word is like a hammer, than we should stop and think about what we know about hammers. This will help us to learn about what He is trying to teach us about the Word of God. For example, A hammer is used to build things, and similarly God's word is also used to build things...

Why I chose NOT TO baptize my children.

should I persue baptism or not? Where do I go?
I grew up as a Protestant, a Methodist to be precise. As a Methodist, and like Catholics and most mainline protestants, I was baptised as an infant. When I was 12, I stopped attending any kind of church (see my story).  At the age of 20, I joined a local Baptist church, and as a Baptist, I fully endorse baptism.  After all, a Baptist would baptise, right? Why is the resurrection important?

I Corinthians 15:14 "And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain."
What is the importance and significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Easter.
The resurrection was essential. It should not to be taken lightly, because that one event sets Jesus apart and proves that He is, and was, the Son of God. The resurrection separates Jesus Christ from all other religious leaders throughout history. The resurrection was God's seal of authenticity upon the life of Jesus Christ and it divides cults from true Bible believing worshippers. Why?
